Me and my beef with intellectual freedom.

I'm a librarian and an archivist. I like information and think that it should be openly accessible to everyone. I don't like it when people are ignorant and tell other people what they can and can not read, listen to, or watch. I keep up with challenged library material news and try and see the whole picture. So far all I've seen are people afraid of some sex (heterosexual and homosexual), a little violence, and an apparent "gay agenda" that I'm quite sure doesn't exist. I have some words for those people. Sit down, shut up, and let the person next to you read whatever they want. They're having a better time than you are anyway.
There was the one instance of some Cuban-Americans getting a book about Cuba pulled off the shelf, but that was because the book improperly portrayed Cuba. Good on them.
Yeah, I have a thing for intellectual freedom and I will gladly talk to you about it.
